The Role
We are looking for a focused and detail-oriented Research Assistant to aid our research project by preparing interviews, summarizing results, and supervising undergraduate students who are involved in the research project.
Key responsibilities:
- Undertake research-based protocols for the project
- Work semi-independently
- Provide regular research updates and data regularly to the research supervisors
- Attend and, as appropriate, present research findings and papers at internal academic meetings and external professional conferences, and to contribute to the internal and external visibility of the department
- For research assistant role – supervise academic work by undergraduates/ for research associate role – supervise academic work by undergraduates, masters and doctorate students
- Contribute to publications arising from this project
- Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be relevant to the role outline
Person specification:
- BSc in relevant subject for research assistant role/ BSc and PhD in relevant subject for research associate role
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Proven interest in Women’s Health/Pregnancy research
- Proven laboratory research skills relevant to the project
Desirable skills / expertise:
- Excellent practical, communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrable statistical and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards
- Analytical and problem-solving skills including a knowledge of statistical applications and techniques
- Ability to use tact, discretion, and sound judgment when dealing with confidential information
