The Role
We are looking for an experienced paramedic to be a member of our team of healthcare professionals. The Paramedic will have a key role in delivering proactive care to our most vulnerable patients as well as supporting the delivery of the Network Contract DES service specifications and other local population health initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out telephone and face to face consultations with patients presenting with a wide range of minor illness or injury
- Use clinical assessment and diagnostic skills and either treat or refer on to alternative primary care professionals or secondary care
- Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments empowering patients to adopt strategies to improve healthy lifestyles
- Refer patients for further investigations where appropriate
- Carry out visits to patients in the community (which will include seeing patients in their own homes and in a nursing home setting)
- Ensure the provision of continuity of care including follow-up consultations or visits where needed
- Alongside stakeholders including patients and other members of the multidisciplinary team, evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and care provided and make changes as needed
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous healthcare records
- Participate in the audit process for the surgery
- Work as part of the surgery team to implement any change initiatives to meet patient need
Person specification:
- Full UK Driving license for at least 12 months, with no more than 6 penalty points.
- IHCD Ambulance Driving Qualification
- Futurequals Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving
