The Role
Are you an excellent practitioner with a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of early years and importance of supporting children to reach their full potential? We are currently recruiting for a passionate, caring, dedicated Nursery Nurse to be responsible for the medical, educational, and psychological care of newborns, infants, and small children to join our team.
To be a successful Nursery Nurse, you should be skilled in and dedicated to infant handling and you should demonstrate a strong sense of empathy and compassion.
Key responsibilities:
- As Nursery Nurse you will be a key person who is responsible for building relationships with small groups of children and their families
- You will provide high standards of quality within the Nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
- Observe, support and extend children’s learning
- Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance
- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and when necessary follow safeguarding procedures
- Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and the Food Safety Regulations are complied with
- Working as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the nursery demands ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
- Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers to support the retention and ongoing occupancy growth
- Actively promote and support charities
Person specification:
- Proven experience of working with early years education settings with successful outcomes for children at ‘Good or Outstanding ’ regulatory inspection outcomes
- Working in collaboration with colleagues in achieving positive working relationships through effective communication and the support of all members of the nursery team
- A strong record of on-going training and/or professional qualifications since qualifying
- Strong decision-maker, with the proven ability to work as part of a team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation
