The Role
To deliver a professional service and contribute to the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and work as part of a multi-functional team on both internal and external levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the assessment of patient care under indirect supervision from the Senior Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse
- Observing and interpreting patient’s symptoms and communicating them to physicians
- Able to facilitate patient flow, communication & problem solving
- Responsible for individualised patient care, working closely with all Caregivers
- Responsible for appropriate internal and external referrals to other services
- Assist in projects to enhance the primary care service
- Participate in the mentorship and induction of new Caregivers
Person specification:
- BA qualified Nurse
- NMC qualified with experience working in acute care
- Good communication (verbal & written)
- Practice nurse qualification would be advantageous but not essential
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
Desirable skills / expertise:
- Basic counselling/interpersonal skills
- Report writing skills
- Presentation skills
