The Role
The IT Support Specialist is the first line of client contact and support. The IT Support Specialist must be able to apply technology to address business needs and constraints.
This role is responsible for assisting staff to achieve efficient and effective use of computing technology and maximize utilization of computer resources. The position of IT Support Specialist combines a breadth of IT technical expertise with an overriding concern and urgency for excellent customer service. Participation in enterprise-wide IT projects and initiatives is encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, operating systems and software
- Provide advanced troubleshooting on complicated IT issues
- Administer access, permissions and privileges for on-site resources and cloud services
- Provide desk side training upon request for enterprise applications
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of IT-internal and user-facing processes
- Monitor hardware and software inventory and keep key IT equipment in stock
- Investigate, understand and resolve problems with local and remote infrastructure
- Occasional work in the office required during the work from home environment
Person specification:
- Associates Degree in Computer Science/MIS related area or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in technical support of PC, networks and servers
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computer and peripherals
- Experience in systems operations and maintenance
- Working knowledge of Windows 7/10/365 and Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent client service, interpersonal and communication skills
