The Role
The Graphic Designer reports into the Senior Designer and works cross-brand across a wide range of projects and platforms including integrated marketing campaigns, on air promos, print and digital. This person will have significant print/static experience, but also be able to motion work where needed. The candidate will come up with and execute innovative and original key art design ideas for multi-platform campaigns, collaborating with creatives and producers throughout the process to ensure that all output is produced to the highest creative standard whilst delivering on time and to budget.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop the look and feel of all external and internal marketing campaigns and communications across all channels
- Inspire, engage and motivate the creative team
- Support with the end-to-end creative development of the company within the design team
- Assist in the management of daily team tasks, with the ability to prioritize several projects at once. To do this, you’ll use the project management system Float
- Be the gatekeeper of design alignment and consistency for all the brand and promotional elements of Robert Dyas to ensure the customer journey remains seamless at all times
- Work closely with the Senior Creative Services Manager to build design concepts and creative critical paths factoring in all necessary deadlines
- Respond to briefs and pitch engaging and impactful creative proposals to the Marketing team, senior team and other stakeholders as required
- Maintain a set of campaign brand guidelines that inform all stakeholders and external agencies of key creative, messaging and (if required) implementation of elements for each campaign, ensuring a cohesive and consistent look and feel, and simple yet effective implementation.
- Contribute to Marketing planning and update meetings on how creative may/or may not have impacted
Person specification:
- 2-4+ years professional graphic design experience
- Strong portfolio of work showing both digital and offline designs, presentations, art working, banners, videos and animations
- Highly confident in Adobe Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, Acrobat Professional. Premiere Pro would be advantageous. Knowledge of Google suite would also be beneficial.
- You have an in-depth knowledge of the pre-production and print and digital process for large and small format requirements
Desirable Skills / Expertise:
- Able to quickly turn a brief into a creative concept
- Ability to understand technical and design constrains with display advertising for all usages
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Experience of 3D visualization with SketchUp an advantage
- Experience creating interactive PDFs using InDesign
- Able to visualize concepts into storyboards or mood boards
- Excellent typography and layout skills with an eye for composition, colors and fonts
