Role: Cyber Security Specialist

The Role
We are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to implement and maintain our security systems. You will be responsible for preventing unauthorized access to our data and responding to privacy breaches.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess the cyber security risk of third-party vendors with an appropriate level of detail
- Interface with procurement, technology risk management, business teams, application management, and third-party program management on cyber security issues
- Identify controls to address gaps in third party vendor relationships
- Monitor the implementation of controls
- Design and implement Cyber Security related governance and tools
- Act as a liaison between Cyber Security teams and third party governance processes
- Define and create relevant metrics and reports
- Support the creation and update of third-party-related policies.
- Review vendor risk reports created by internal and external entities for impacts to cyber security
- Keep up-to-date on the latest trends, methodologies, and tools related to the third party
- Interface with industry coalitions working on third party cybersecurity issues
Person specification:
- Experience working as a technical cyber security specialist
- An interest in Data Science or Machine Learning would be advantageous
- Detailed knowledge and analysis of advanced cyber-attack techniques
- Awareness of the intelligence cycle and cyber security industry related standard analytical methodologies
Desirable skills / expertise:
- Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems
- A forensic approach to challenges
- A deep understanding of how hackers work
- Ability to keep up with the fast pace of change in the criminal cyber-underworld
