The Role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to implement and maintain our security systems. You will be responsible for preventing unauthorized access to our data and responding to privacy breaches.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess the cyber security risk of third-party vendors with an appropriate level of detail
  • Interface with procurement, technology risk management, business teams, application management, and third-party program management on cyber security issues
  • Identify controls to address gaps in third party vendor relationships
  • Monitor the implementation of controls
  • Design and implement Cyber Security related governance and tools
  • Act as a liaison between Cyber Security teams and third party governance processes
  • Define and create relevant metrics and reports
  • Support the creation and update of third-party-related policies.
  • Review vendor risk reports created by internal and external entities for impacts to cyber security
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest trends, methodologies, and tools related to the third party
  • Interface with industry coalitions working on third party cybersecurity issues

Person specification:

  • Experience working as a technical cyber security specialist
  • An interest in Data Science or Machine Learning would be advantageous
  • Detailed knowledge and analysis of advanced cyber-attack techniques
  • Awareness of the intelligence cycle and cyber security industry related standard analytical methodologies

Desirable skills / expertise:

  • Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems
  • A forensic approach to challenges
  • A deep understanding of how hackers work
  • Ability to keep up with the fast pace of change in the criminal cyber-underworld
