Hours: Morning Club: 7.5 hours per week during term-time only, made up as follows:
7.30-9am Monday to Friday
Afternoon: 22 hours per week during term time only, made up as follows:
1pm – 6pm, Monday
1.45pm – 6pm Tuesday to Friday
Occasionally there will be a requirement to work from 12 noon.

Salary: £10.86 per hour for Morning Club hours and £8.96 per hour for afternoon hours – salary is paid monthly.
Overtime will be paid at the appropriate hourly rate.

Specific Duties:
 Key Worker responsibilities for approximately 24 children from P1 through to P7/S1.
 Planning, evaluating and supervising the following areas: snack, floor activity, walking (escorting of children to and from school and activities), craft, construction and games areas and quiet room.
General Duties:
 Provision of high quality play opportunities.
 Implementation of JOSS policies and procedures.
 Supervision of children at all times.
 Collection of children aged 4½ to 12 years from designated areas at school.
 Participation in weekly team meetings and training as identified as relevant for the development of individuals and the service.
 Undertake written reports where appropriate, for example, recording accidents/incidents and doing observations.
 Tidying up and cleaning of equipment and toys at the end of each session.
 Promoting positive behaviour.
 Administer first aid if qualified.
 Liaise with parents and school staff.
 Perform any other duties as required by the manager or deputy manager.

Qualifications, experience and requirements:
 In terms of criteria for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council this position is at ‘Practitioner’ level and candidates should have SVQ Level 3 in Playwork /CCLD or HNC in Early Childcare. However, we would consider candidates who are willing to train and salary and conditions will be available on request.
 Current Paediatric First Aid, food hygiene and infection control qualifications would be advantageous.
 Previous experience working in a childcare setting which follows the Playwork Principles is desirable. At all times we promote play.
 This post carries a certain level of responsibility and as such the candidate should have good communication skills and the ability to act on their own initiative when necessary.
 The success of JOSS is due to the close knit team of workers and the candidate must have an understanding of the importance of team work and be able to support colleagues at all times.
