Kitchen Porter

My client is looking for a Kitchen Porter Purpose of the Post is To maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and utensils within the kitchen, and other associated areas, in line with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislative requirements. To ensure that rubbish is disposed, and furniture moved in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities for Kitchen Porter

• Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with both the company’s and statutory Food Hygiene/Health & Safety policies
• To operate kitchen and cleaning equipment in a safe and effective manner
• Clear, clean and polish crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils
• Clean and maintain floors and all equipment in kitchens, and service areas, in line with cleaning schedules and using appropriate cleaning materials
• To clear and dispose of rubbish in a safe and efficient manner
• To lay up and clear dining furniture and counters
• Transport catering items on trolleys in a controlled manner
• Provide a courteous and efficient service to all customers
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and ensure clean uniforms
• Check and pass on information and comments as required from contact with staff, students and visitors
• Within the scope of responsibility and knowledge of the post holder, to attempt to rectify any customer complaints by referring to the Supervisor on any action taken, or alerting him/her to action taken
• Work flexibly and undertake any other catering-related duties that may be reasonably required within the scope of the role
• Work at other locations, as required, depending on the clients operational needs
