This is a new post following the introduction of the Ryedale Rover Dial & Ride Service.

The key purpose of the post is to:

·         Monitor the booking line and Coordinate telephone bookings for the Ryedale Rover.

·         Ensure that Journey requests are managed, collated, and prioritised for the drivers.

·         Liaise with the Fleet co-ordinator to ensure that sufficient vehicles and drivers  are available for each service to ensure smooth on time service delivery.

·         To ensure that all information regarding the service is gathered to ensure that statistical returns for the Board of Trustees and the National Lottery are completed in a timely and professional manner.

·         Ensure accurate and timely data regarding vehicle mileage passenger numbers are recorded accurately and presented to the Chief Officer as required.

·         To capture customer experiences by people using the service and provide timely information for publicity both local and national.

·         Provide press releases and social media information as needed.

·         To support the general office with telephone and call handling.

·         To stand in for the Car scheme booking desk if required and other administrative duties as requested.

·         The postholder reports directly to the Chief Officer


The post will attract a salary of £9.20 per hour for 25/30 hours spread across the working week (Monday to Friday). Exact arrangements are subject to further negotiation.

The postholder will be subject to the Ryedale Community Transport Employees Terms and Conditions of Service and Employment, the initial contract will be conditional on a standard probationary period of 6 months, thereafter the post will be subject to continuation funding.

The Qualities of the Postholder should include:

·         An understanding of the Ryedale Rovers service, how it operates and what objectives the charity are trying to achieve with the service.

·         A good standard of written and verbal communication

·         The ability to work within a small team and help other colleagues as and when required

·         Sound IT knowledge in email and office applications

·         An understanding of the importance of detailed data capture and the ability to present information as required.

·         A good telephone manner and the ability to plan and problem solve.
