Assistant Accountant Role Description

To work alongside risual Accountant to provide financial management to risual ensuring that all financial transactions are completed in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.

The finance function operates in a fastmoving, data-rich business environment, and financial data insights are central to dynamic and impactful decision making. We embrace change, maximising the technology and are committed to see automation throughout all of our financial processes. Our team are expected to provide robust, and accurate data through diligent processing. The Assistant Accountant is also expected to understand the significance of transactions and to bring value through the ownership and interpretation of this data to support risual through its growth plans.

We are seeking to fulfil this exciting role with an individual who is committed to a financeaccountancy career. An individual who has financeaccountancy experience in a previous role, has strength in their ability to complete transactional to a very high standard but who is driven to progress their career to qualified accountant, with support, at risual.

Specific role requirements and experience:

·Taking responsibility for the purchase ledger, sales ledger including preparing all invoices for customers and suppliers

· Completion of all financial transactions accurately and to time against weekly, monthly and yearly finance timetable.

· General ledger accounting including understanding profit and loss variances to forecast

·Assisting with the management of budgets, forecasts, and cashflow

·Short-term cash flow forecasting and reporting to risual Accountant

·Producing payment schedules and processing of all payments

·Assisting with the production of monthly management information

·Maintaining fixed asset registers

·Processing monthly payroll for all staff of the business ensuring accurate representation on the ledger to generate project profitability reports

·Provide support and cover to the finance and administration teams on an ad hoc basis

Essential Criteria:

To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

·Must hold or be able to successfully achieve and maintain NPPV3 with SC.

·Able to evidence excellent customer service skills.

·Holds minimum of AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) with a passion and drive to progress to qualified accountant status. Degree level education is preferred.

·Proven experience within accounting and VAT with a strong technical ability

·The ability to adjust to varying priorities in a dynamic environment, work under pressure, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

·The ability to retain information and recall facts accurately.

·Strong analytical skills and maintain accuracy in all responsibilities performed with the attention to detail, extremely diligent and highly accurate.

·Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills working in harmony with the Sales and delivery teams with the ability to create and maintain positive relationships.

·Technical competence and passion for automation and efficiencies with a robust nature and a driven attitude.

·Desire and passion to grow and succeed with a view to progressing into the role of company accountant within three to five years.
