🚀🚀 Recruiting for a Junior Category Manager – Food & Coffee working on a 5 Month Fixed Term Contract to work based from home with the offices near Cheddar, Somerset. You will be joining a business that has over 30 years of award winning experience in creating, rolling out and managing bespoke customer food services.

▶︎ Their retail sites not only have to provide customers with the best fuels, but they cater to customers increasing demands for convenience shopping and quality food-to-go. As a Junior Category Manager for Food & Coffee, you will be responsible for carrying out the necessary analysis of sales and category performance supporting the profitable growth of Convenience Retail. The purpose of the role is to support the Senior Category Manager for Food & Coffee. This involves carrying out detailed analysis of the Food-to-go & Coffee offer, KPI reporting and working closely with the key strategic category partners.

▶︎ The role will be responsible for using the insights from the weekly analysis to understand category dynamics and performance, identify gaps for opportunities and proactively suggest adhoc projects to fully own from end to end, in order to drive performance and continuous improvement for profitable growth. Specific focus areas being sales, waste levels and operational excellence such as driving improvement in uptime on Coffee machines as one example.

▶︎ Key to this role is having a strong analytical mindset, ability to deal with conflicting priorities, work at pace in a fast moving environment and a close attention and accuracy to detail. The Junior Category Manager – Food & Coffee will need to support in general problem solving, provide administrative support and answer queries from the Sales & Operations team. Finally, there is also a need to understand the dynamics of the wider Retail environment, using external market data, competitor analysis and the flexibility to visit sites.

▶︎Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
•Qualification and training in Category Management.
•Direct experience and a clear understanding of the UK Food & Coffee business will therefore be imperative.
•Experience of using retailer data and accessing customer data sources.
•Strong Excel skills and ability to use PowerPoint or similar presentation tools.
•Strong presentation skills.
•High degree of IT competence in all MS Windows packages.
•Experience of using SAP Business Objects would be a very strong advantage.
•External competitor landscape understanding.
•Food retail experience.
•Strong analytical capability, especially in Excel.
•Self-starter, effective even with limited supervision.
•Problem solver.
•Attention to detail.
•Managing conflicting priorities.
•Effective team player and contributor.
