Apprentice Support Worker

In partnership with North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

30 hours / week hours on job training

· 5 hours at work 1 hour study time Monday to Friday

· Working hours 9:30 to 15:00 with ½ hour unpaid lunch

· Study hours flexible

· Hourly rate: £6.30 – £9.50

Must have a car, a full driving licence with business insurance and be available to transport clients.

Forever Savvy is currently looking for an apprentice Support Worker/Job Coaches to join our rapidly expanding project. We are a community project who train adults with learning disabilities to develop the skills required to be successful in the workplace.

You will be working with adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties, providing experiential learning and development through the delivery of work-based activities.

The ideal candidate for this position loves working in the great outdoors and enjoys helping people to reach their full potential.

To be a successful in this role you will need to be flexible across a variety of roles and centres, passionate about helping others and able to work well separately and as part of a team. As an ideal candidate you should also be able to:

Lead a small group and be a role model to those around you.
Motivate and engage adults with learning disabilities to allow them to develop self-confidence and problem-solving skills in the working environments.
Be comfortable working with a variety animal including poultry, dogs and horses in an outdoors setting.
Be comfortable working within a small café setting.
Support individuals with learning disabilities in their work placements.
Main place of work will be Creative Savvy but required to be flexible between all our centres at;
Creative Savvy – Bagworth – woodwork and gardening
Café Savvy – Bagworth – kitchen and front of house
Horse Savvy – Broughton Astley – animal care and land maintenance
Design Savvy – Eyres Monsell – print and design on garments and pottery.

No previous experience is needed in either working in the social care sector or with animals as all training is provide. The current roles are for 30 hours a week, consisting of 5 hours at work and 1 hour training a day.
