Action For Care Ltd has an opportunity to work with our team at Milford Lodge in South Milford. We are currently expanding the team and recruiting for full time staff.

Milford Lodge provides up to 8 residential placements for adults with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs.

Responsibilities of Care Worker:

· To provide a professional and residential care service to all Service Users and to promote the development of the individual’s full potential

· To ensure that high standards of professional care and practices for service users are established and maintained, including appropriate attention to their physical, cultural, social, educational, recreational and emotional needs

· To participate in the decision making process concerning future plans for each service user within their home environment.

· To prepare reports and to participate in case reviews on each service user.

To ensure that service user’s medication is administered as prescribed by the General Practitioner for Action for Care Limited.

· To undertake ‘Keyworker’ responsibilities.

· To promote and contribute towards effective communication within the residential staff team and between service user and staff, to ensure that continuity of care is maintained.

· To contribute towards the maintenance of sound administrative practices within the home; to establish and maintain a detailed case recording system for each resident.

· To participate in and contribute to staff training and development programmes as and when required.

· To assist as necessary in the overall running of the home and to provide assistance where necessary.

To carry out any other duties as required from time to time be requested by the Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience preferred but not required, as full training will be provided.

We are currently conducting interviews over the telephone. New staff will be offered the vaccine as we have a high ration of staff and service users who have received there first vaccine.
Staff and service users are regularly tested for Covid-19.

Action for Care is a private company providing high quality accommodation and personal care for individuals who have a learning disability with additional complex needs including autism, ASD, challenging behaviour, epilepsy, communication difficulties and mental health support. Our residential care services are currently provided within the West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire regions. Our service users live in spacious modern houses accommodating between 6 and 8 individuals with 24 hour support. We provide similar services for this client group through Fourcare Plus and Ark Specialist Healthcare both in Wakefield. Advent House (Ark) also offers purpose built accommodation with nursing or personal care for individuals who have a learning disability and associated complex needs. The service is fully accessible for individuals who in addition have a physical disability. Our philosophy is to provide a highly recognised premium care service backed by a professionally run business. We employ dedicated staff teams and utilise external specialists, consultants and professional services to compliment our care provision. We have an "open door" approach to communication throughout the organisation including at director level to ensure open and transparent communication at all levels in addition to use of recognised policies and procedures regarding reporting, whistleblowing, safeguarding, grievance.
