The Caretaker plays an essential role in the day to day upkeep of Clifton Cathedral. The Caretaker supports the Dean and Administrator, ensuring the building and property are kept to a high standard of repair and order. In brief, the role of the Caretaker is:
– to carry out routine and basic maintenance tasks
– to liaise with contractors, appointed by the Administrator, for more complex repairs, servicing of plant and improvement work.
– Preparing for third-party hire of function/meeting rooms and/or the Cathedral itself.
to work flexibly from time to time. This may require cover on a few evenings or weekends over the year for concerts and major events.
– to inspect the property on a weekly basis, looking for defects and faults that require attention.
– to ensure that the Health and Safety regulations, as set out by the Diocesan H&S manual are strictly adhered to.
