Staff mean well, but totally blocked up by over-centralisation by Basildon, which covers the whole of East Anglia. Couldn’t run a bun fight in a bakery. Over last 5 years had to get my MP involved to resolve serious errors by Basildon and lack of communication with Chelmsford office. Appalling service overall, not at centre level but Basildon Central Operations not communicating.

Letter box at Chelmsford New London Road sealed so cannont post information such as ES 40 for signing off; central call centre can take up to 40 minuets to talk to a human, always receiving ” an unusually high voloume of calls”- Each time every time.
Over last 10 years of broken employment (due to health and family issues) have had to file 5 formal complaints, three raised to MP level.

Staff too tied up with red-tape to allow them to get on with their job, and no one to speak to who knows what they are talking to at a central operation either at Basildon or Northampton. Always in a call queue; in some cases taking 40 minuets in a call queue to speak to a human, only to find it is the wrong department the automated answer system has sent you to. Option rarely link to the issue one has. Too much telephony and push button and not enough human contact.

Must do better.
